Frequently Asked Questions!
Our Wedding Photography Services
-
Light, airy and full of heart. We love beautiful portraits, but we love the moments between them just as much. The nervous laughter, quiet glances, happy tears and slightly chaotic things that make the day yours.
Our goal is not to make your wedding look like somebody else’s. It is to photograph it in a way that still feels like you years from now.
-
We photograph actual wedding days, solemnisations, pre-wedding sessions, maternity shoots and family milestones in Singapore and beyond.
Whether you are planning a full-day celebration, an intimate ceremony or something that does not fit neatly into a traditional wedding format, tell us what you have in mind. We will help you find the coverage that makes sense for it.
-
We photograph a mix of candid moments and gently directed portraits.
We will guide you during couple portraits, wedding-party photographs and family group shots so nobody is left wondering what to do with their hands. For the rest of the celebration, we stay observant and capture the real, unscripted moments as they unfold.
You get the frame-worthy portraits as well as the photographs that bring back exactly how the day felt.
-
Breadandbutterworks’ wedding photographers are Ash and Arielle, each with their own perspective and way of connecting with couples.
Ash is drawn to candid beauty, heartfelt storytelling and the emotions found within both natural and urban surroundings. Arielle loves the raw moments that appear between poses and locations that hold personal meaning for the couple.
Whichever photographer you work with, you can expect the same light, airy and people-focused approach.
-
Yes. Let us know whether you are drawn to Ash’s or Arielle’s work when you enquire, and we will check their availability for your date.
Looking through their individual wedding photography portfolios is the best place to start. Their photographs may share the Breadandbutterworks look, but each photographer brings their own eye, energy and personality to the experience.
Wedding Photography Prices and Bookings
-
Breadandbutterworks’ photography packages currently start from $588, with different options available for actual wedding days, solemnisations, pre-wedding sessions, maternity shoots and other milestones.
The final price depends on the type of session, photographer, number of hours and any additional services required. Our rates are available upfront because wedding planning already comes with enough financial surprises.
-
Package inclusions vary depending on the type and length of photography coverage selected.
Your quotation will clearly set out the photography hours, deliverables and any applicable additions before you book. You can also view our full rate card for the latest package options and prices.
No vague “starting from” price followed by seventeen hidden surprises. What you see in your quotation is what you can plan around.
-
Yes. Our packages are designed to make planning easier, not to force every wedding into the same timetable.
Send us your wedding schedule, priorities and the moments you definitely want photographed. We can recommend an existing package or advise whether a customised quotation would be more suitable.
We will also tell you honestly when you need more coverage and when you probably do not.
-
The right amount of coverage depends on your schedule and which parts of the celebration you want documented.
An intimate solemnisation may only require a few hours, while a wedding with morning preparations, traditions, a ceremony and an evening reception will need longer coverage.
Send us your rough schedule and we can help you work backwards. It is much easier than choosing a random number and hoping your tea ceremony runs with military precision.
-
It is best to enquire once your wedding date and venue are confirmed.
Popular weekends and auspicious dates can be booked well in advance, so reaching out early gives you a better chance of securing your preferred photographer. However, last-minute celebrations are still welcome as there is always a possibility that your date is available.
-
Start by sending us an enquiry with your date, venue, type of celebration and the photography coverage you are considering.
We will check our availability, recommend a suitable package and guide you through the booking process. Your date is only considered secured after the required booking steps and deposit/payment have been completed.
Pre-wedding Photography
-
Yes. We offer pre-wedding photography sessions for couples who want photographs before their wedding day.
Your session can be romantic and polished, casual and playful, or built around the places and activities that are meaningful to you. There is no rule saying a pre-wedding shoot must involve standing dramatically in a field unless standing dramatically in a field happens to be your thing.
-
Definitely! We can recommend locations based on the look you love, the time available and what feels most like the two of you.
That could mean a nature park, beach, rooftop, favourite café, familiar neighbourhood, industrial space or somewhere connected to your relationship. A meaningful location is lovely, but “we saw it and thought it looked nice” is also a perfectly valid reason.
We will also take into consideration and advise you regarding location accessibility, photography restrictions and permit requirements if applicable.
-
Yes of course! Honestly, most couples tell us they are awkward before their shoot, so you are in excellent company.
You do not need to practise poses or arrive knowing your best angle. We will guide you with simple directions and prompts that help you move and interact naturally.
The aim is not to make you perform romance for the camera. It is to create enough comfort for your actual connection to show.
-
This question is a tough one as everybody suits different style of clothing and we often tailor our suggestions during our chats with our couples.
However, here are some general tips for you to consider! Choose outfits that feel like a slightly more polished version of yourselves and that allow you to move comfortably.
Your outfits do not need to match exactly. Colours and textures that complement each other usually photograph better than identical clothing. We can also advise you based on your chosen locations and the overall look you are going for.
Most importantly, wear something you can sit, walk, laugh and breathe in. Looking good becomes considerably harder when a button is fighting for its life!
-
YESSSSS, please tell us about them!!
Pets are part of the family and often bring exactly the kind of happy chaos we enjoy photographing. We will help you consider the location rules, your pet’s temperament and whether somebody should come along to care for them between photographs.
Treats and squeaky toys are highly encouraged. Their cooperation cannot be contractually guaranteed.
-
We will assess the weather and discuss the most practical option based on the conditions, location and session.
Depending on the situation, we may wait for the rain to pass, adjust the route, move to a sheltered location or reschedule according to the terms of your booking.
Singapore’s weather enjoys reminding us who is really in charge, but we will help you work through the available options!
-
Yes, overseas pre-wedding photography may be arranged depending on the destination, travel dates and photographer availability.
Whether it is a beach, mountain, city street or extremely photogenic convenience store, we are open to hearing the idea and exploring with you!
Actual Day Wedding Photography
-
Yes. Solemnisation-only photography is available for couples who want a shorter period of coverage focused on the ceremony, portraits and time with their guests.
This can be suitable for intimate celebrations, civil ceremonies, restaurant weddings and couples who do not require full-day photography.
A smaller wedding does not mean the memories matter any less.
-
Absolutely. Weddings do not need to follow a fixed programme to be worth documenting.
We photograph intimate solemnisations, lunches, home celebrations and weddings that take a less traditional route. Tell us what you are planning and which moments matter most, and we will shape the photography coverage around your day.
-
Yes. Once your schedule begins taking shape, send it to us for a photography review.
We can flag areas that may feel rushed, suggest where extra breathing room would help and make sure your important moments have enough coverage.
We cannot guarantee that every relative will be ready on time, but we can create a timeline that leaves a little room for real life.
-
Of course. The people who celebrate with you are an important part of your wedding story.
Our style of shooting leans more towards the documentative style and we aspire to capture the real emotions and activities throughout your day.
We often look out for the candid interactions, laughter and emotions happening among your guests so you can witness them too!
-
Photography is our bread and butter (geddit?), but videography options are also available in collaboration with Bridelopefilms.
Let us know whether you are looking for actual-day videography, pre-wedding videography or combined photo and video coverage. We will advise you on the available options and provide the most suitable recommendation!
After Your Wedding or Photoshoot
-
The number of photographs depends on the type and length of your session.
A full wedding day will naturally produce more photographs than a short solemnisation or portrait session. Your package details will state the expected deliverables as a guide before you book.
That being said, we focus on giving you the complete coverage of your story and will not hold your photos hostage.
A point to note is that we often shoot in burst and we will curate and pick the best photos of the bunch to deliver rather than sending you heaps of identical photographs of the same shot.
-
Your final photographs will be edited in Breadandbutterworks’ signature light, airy and bright style.
We pay attention to colour, lighting and consistency across the full gallery while keeping skin tones and emotions looking natural. The goal is for you to look like yourselves on a very good day, not like distant AI-generated relatives.
-
You will receive a collection of the strongest photographs documenting your entire celebration or session.
Test shots, accidental blinks, technical misses and unnecessary duplicates are removed before editing. The remaining photographs are selected and arranged to tell a complete story without making you scroll through the same moment forty-seven times.
-
RAW files are unfinished working files and are not normally included as part of the final deliverables.
Editing is an essential part of the Breadandbutterworks style and the process through which your final gallery comes together. Handing over the RAW files would be a little like handing you flour, butter and yeast instead of the finished loaf.
-
Expect to receive your photos within 2-3 months. We know waiting is difficult, especially when you want to relive the day immediately. We promise the photographs are not sitting forgotten in a mysterious folder called “later”.
-
Yes. Your final photographs are meant to be enjoyed, shared and printed for personal use.
You are welcome to post them on your personal social media accounts, and tagging Breadandbutterworks and your photographer is always appreciated. Vendors, publications and businesses should contact us before using the photographs commercially or making additional edits.
Still have questions?
